Terms of Use
Last updated 4 August 2026
These terms cover your use of Attic, an antique and collectible identifier for iPhone. By using the app you agree to them.
The one thing that matters most. Attic's value ranges, confidence ratings and Buy / Pass / Research verdicts are automated estimates produced by an AI model from your photos. They are for information only. They are not a professional appraisal, not an authentication, and not financial advice — and you use them at your own risk.
Apple's licence terms also apply
Attic is distributed through the App Store, so your licence to use it is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. Where these terms and Apple's standard EULA conflict on the licence itself, Apple's EULA governs.
What Attic does
You photograph an object. The app sends up to three of those photos to an AI model, which returns a likely identification, an estimated value range in US dollars, a confidence rating, a verdict, a suggested maximum purchase price, and its reasoning. Results are saved to your collection on your device.
Limits of the valuations
- Estimates, not appraisals. Attic is not a licensed appraiser, auction house, or authentication service. Do not rely on it for insurance, probate, tax, resale contracts, or any high-value transaction. Get a qualified professional to look at the piece.
- It can be wrong. AI identification is probabilistic. It can misidentify a piece, miss a reproduction, or produce a range that the real market disagrees with. The confidence rating is an honest signal — treat "low" as "go and research this".
- Markets move. Values for antiques and collectibles vary by condition, provenance, region, season and buyer. A range that was reasonable today can be wrong next month.
- Your decision is yours. You are solely responsible for what you buy, pass on, price, or sell. We are not liable for money lost on a purchase or a sale you made after using the app.
Subscriptions
Attic includes 3 free scans. After that, unlimited scanning requires an Attic Pro subscription.
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Attic Pro — Yearly | $29.99 / year | Includes a 3-day free trial |
| Attic Pro — Weekly | $4.99 / week | No trial |
- Prices are in US dollars and may differ in other App Store storefronts; Apple shows your local price before you confirm.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the period ending.
- If you take the free trial, any unused portion is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- We may change prices or plans in the future. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for, and Apple will ask you to agree to a price increase before it takes effect.
Acceptable use
Don't use Attic to break the law, don't upload photos you have no right to use, and don't attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, scrape or automate access to the app or the service behind it. Requests are protected by device attestation; circumventing it is a breach of these terms.
Your content
Your photos and your collection remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and, as described in the Privacy Policy, we hold no copy of them — they live on your device and in your own iCloud account, and photos are transmitted to the model only to produce an identification.
Our content
The app itself — its name, design, code and text — belongs to us and is licensed to you for personal use, not assigned.
Availability
Identification depends on a third-party AI service and an internet connection. We can't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change or discontinue features. If the service becomes unavailable for a sustained period during a paid subscription, contact us.
Disclaimer and liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Attic is provided "as is" and without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and if you are a consumer you keep your statutory rights.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app changes. Material changes will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the revised terms.
