Subscriptions and billing

How do I cancel Attic Pro?

Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple, not by us. On your iPhone open Settings → your name → Subscriptions, tap Attic, then Cancel Subscription. You can also go straight to your Apple subscriptions page. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the current period ends.

Does deleting the app cancel my subscription?

No. Deleting the app removes it from your phone but leaves the subscription running. You have to cancel through Apple as above.

I'm on the 3-day trial. When am I charged?

The yearly plan includes a 3-day free trial. Apple charges you when the trial ends, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before that point. Cancelling during the trial costs nothing.

I paid but Pro isn't unlocked.

Open Settings in the app and tap Restore purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, since Apple is the merchant of record. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you tell us why, we'll take the feedback seriously either way.

Scanning and results

Why is the value range so wide?

Because the piece is genuinely uncertain. Attic is built to widen the range and lower its confidence rather than print a precise-looking number it can't stand behind. A wide band with a "low confidence" badge is telling you to research before you spend.

The identification is wrong.

Usually it's the photos. Shoot the whole piece in even light, then add close-ups of any maker's marks, stamps, signatures or hallmarks — those are what pin down the era. Use the Not right? Adjust photos button on the result to rescan with better shots. If a piece is consistently misread, email us the photos and what it actually was.

How many photos should I add?

Two or three is the sweet spot: one of the object, one of the marks. You can attach up to six, but a long burst of near-identical angles doesn't help.

What does "possible reproduction" mean?

Attic saw something inconsistent with period production — modern hardware, wrong marks, too-clean casting. It's a flag to check the marks carefully before you buy, not a verdict that the piece is fake.

Does Attic work offline?

Identification needs a connection, because the analysis runs on a model in the cloud. Your existing collection remains fully viewable offline.

A scan failed or timed out.

Check your signal — flea markets and basements are hard on cell coverage. Scans give up after about 35 seconds so you aren't left waiting. Try again with fewer, smaller photos.

Your collection and data

My collection isn't syncing to my other device.

Attic syncs through your own iCloud account, so check that both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID, that iCloud Drive is on, and that Attic is allowed to use iCloud in Settings → your name → iCloud. The app's Settings screen shows the current iCloud status. Sync also needs a network connection and can take a moment to catch up.

How do I export my finds?

Open the Collection tab and tap the share button. Attic produces a CSV containing each piece's name, category, era, verdict, value range, what you paid, where, the date and whether you starred it — ready for Numbers, Excel or Google Sheets.

How do I delete a piece, or everything?

Swipe any row in your Collection to delete that piece and its photos. To remove everything, delete the app from your device, then clear the iCloud copy in Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage. Because Attic has no accounts and no server, there's nothing on our side to delete.

Do you keep my photos?

No. Your photos live on your device and in your private iCloud account. They're sent to Google's Gemini model only to produce the identification. The Privacy Policy spells out exactly what goes where.

Requirements

Which devices are supported?

Attic runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later. There's no iPad or Android version at the moment.

Is Attic an appraisal service?

No. It gives automated estimates to help you make a fast decision in the aisle. For insurance, probate or sale of a high-value piece, get a professional appraisal. See the Terms of Use.

Still stuck?

Email melikyanhaykaz@gmail.com and tell us what happened. Feature requests are welcome too — a lot of what's in the app came from resellers telling us what they actually needed.
